Jacob Kaminski, DYAO Asst. Conductor

Jacob Kaminski is a conductor and double bassist from Cleveland, Ohio. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Orchestral Conducting and Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he serves as a Teaching Assistant to Gary Lewis, and directs the university’s non music major orchestra.

In addition to his work with DYAO, Jacob also works as Teaching Artist for El Sistema Colorado, where he conducts two student ensembles and instructs double bass. Prior to working in Colorado, Jacob studied with H. Robert Reynolds and Craig Kirchoff at The Midwest Clinic Reynolds Conducting Institute, and Kevin Noe at the University of Missouri Kansas City Conducting Symposium. In addition to conducting, Jacob maintains a private double bass studio in the Boulder area, and serves as a freelance jazz and orchestral bassist.

Jacob holds a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in Orchestral Conducting, and a Bachelor’s degree in Double Bass Performance from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music.
