Today we feature the second lady who has chosen the Lone Star State as her next destination: ELISSA VOLLING.
Elissa has been a member of DYAO for 7 years. She is a graduated Senior from Denver County and has been a violist with YAO for 5 years. She was last year's YAO Concerto Competition winner and has been selected for Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra for the second year in a row. Prior to her time with YAO, she was a member of Conservatory Orchestra and String Ensemble for one year each. During her time as a violist for Conservatory Orchestra, she also served as violinist for String Ensemble. Elissa is planning to attend the prestigious Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, where she received a scholarship and is planning to major in Viola Performance.
When asked what DYAO means to her, she replied: "DYAO has been an amazing experience for me. It has helped me grow as a musician so much. I have been so blessed to perform incredible repertoire with such awesome colleagues and friends. I want to thank DYAO for everything that it has done for me. I'm excited to stay in touch throughout my next steps!"
We cannot wait to see where this new journey will lead this talented lady. Of course, we will stay in touch!
