This program explores themes of transformation through some of the most compelling musical works: the mystical world of the ancient Mayas in Silvestre Revueltas' La noche de los Mayas, the lush landscapes of the Amazon with Daniel Catán's Florencia en el Amazonas, and Paul Hindemith's inventive Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber. These spectacular pieces showcase dynamic orchestration and brilliant reimagining. Plus, don’t miss a special dance collaboration with ArtistiCO that is sure to leave you wanting more.

Enjoy captivating solo and small group performances by talented DYAO members and local musicians.   • Join the Denver Young Artists Orchestra for a delightful matinee afternoon of "Folklore Fusion," where timeless traditions meet contemporary charm in a vibrant tapestry of sounds and stories. Featuring performances by our String Ensemble, Allegro Strings, and Conservatory Orchestra, this concert promises a dynamic journey through global musical heritage. Enjoy pieces ranging from the festive strains of "Cielito Lindo" to the Baroque elegance of Bach’s "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3"; the heartwarming tribute of "Remember Me" from Disney's Coco, and the exotic flair of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Capriccio Espagnol." This concert celebrates the exuberance and talent of our young musicians, showcasing diverse influences and the rich tapestry of global musical heritage.

  • Join the Denver Young Artists Orchestra for an extraordinary matinee as the Young Artists Orchestra presents "Uncommon Echoes." This concert celebrates unique and powerful voices in classical music, including such repertoire as Joan Tower's rousing "Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman," a tribute to trailblazing women. Audiences will also hear Marion Bauer's dynamic Piano Concerto, Op. 36 "American Youth," showcasing the vibrancy and promise of young talent. The performance will also feature the 2024 Chamber Concert Competition Winner as well as special guest artist, Clare Longendyke!

    This is the first of two concert performances of "Uncommon Echoes."
