Violin Teaching Artist (Contractor)
The Violin Teaching Artist is responsible for teaching a Denver Young Artists Orchestra Tune Up program during after-school hours in Denver metro area schools. Currently we have an opening for the program at Jewell Elementary in Aurora on Wednesdays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Tune Up comprises weekly after school programs to help aspiring young musicians learn the violin, read music, and build a foundation of great technique that will support them long into the future. Instructors are professional musicians and teaching artists who are passionate about helping students fall in love with music. Instruments that the students can take home for practice are provided by DYAO (or the individual school). Tune Up students may perform various times in the school year, including an end-of-year concert with their peers and instructors to show how much they learned over the past year.
The mission of DYAO is to expose young musicians and audiences to the joy and beauty of symphonic music, pursuing excellence through exceptional orchestral training, unique and diverse performance opportunities, and new pathways to symphonic experiences. Ultimately, we seek to cultivate the next generation of musicians who will reimagine the future of symphonic music in our community.
