Tune Up!
Attention Parents, School Teachers
and/or Community Leaders:
Do you know any promising young musicians in grades K-12 who are interested in music lessons and/or might need an orchestral instrument to practice on?
Since 1992 the Denver Young Artists Orchestra has sponsored Tune Up! The program grew out of a strong need for private music instruction for young musicians who showed an interest and ability on orchestral instruments in the classroom, but were unable to afford private lessons. Promising young musicians in underserved neighborhoods are chosen with the help of their school music instructors to participate in the program. The students are given private and group instruction with professional instrumentalists to help prepare them for further advancement and increased competition in music. It is hoped they will join the Denver Young Artists Orchestra in the future, but they will also add to their school programs and other community youth orchestras as they progress.
