Concerto Competitions
The DYAO holds two annual concerto competitions (one for DYAO members and one for Conservatory Orchestra members) in which current members can showcase their individual talent. The winners will have the distinction of performing in the spring. Each year approximately forty orchestra members undertake the challenge of the concerto competitions
Conducting Competition
DYAO also holds a conducting competition each spring. The winner of this competition conducts one piece during the DYAO orchestra's fundraiser Concert in May.
