Audition Requirements

Denver Young Artists Orchestra consists of three ensembles: DYAO, Conservatory Orchestra, and String Ensemble. Placement in each ensemble is determined by audition. Tuition and age ranges for each ensemble is:
- DYAO (ages 12 - 23) $500
- Conservatory Orchestra (ages 10 - 18) $425
- String Ensemble (ages 8 - 13) $350

Students must learn all appropriate material for their instrument(s). This material is available online by clicking on your instrument below:

Audition Results
All applicants will be notified of their audition results by mail the week of June 1, 2010. Audition results will not be given over the phone. Placement in DYAO, Conservatory Orchestra, and String Ensemble will be determined by the audition panel and Music Director, Scott O'Neil. All decisions are final.
DYAO Tour 2011 - Germany and the Czech Republic
DYAO will travel to Germany and the Czech Republic in June 2011 for a 12 day tour. In addition to performing four concerts, students will visit some of Europe's greatest cities including Berlin, Leipzig, and Prague. Participants for the DYAO tour must attend a tour and orientation meeting on June 19, 2010. More information on the tour will be presented on DYAO's website soon.
Membership Requirements
In addition to the guidelines set forth in the DYAO member handbook, all DYAO members are required to be actively taking private lessons as well as participating in their school music program.
Financial Aid
