Audition Requirements

Denver Young Artists Orchestra consists of three ensembles: DYAO, The Conservatory Orchestra, and The String Ensemble. Placement in each ensemble is by audition only. Tuition and age range for each ensemble in the 2008-09 season is:

Audition requirements for each ensemble are the same: a 2-3 minute prepared solo excerpt displaying your highest skill level as well as a 2-3 minute sight-reading excerpt, which will be given at the audition. Students audition for all three orchestras simultaneously.

Audition Results

All applicants will be notified of their audition results by mail by June 5, 2009. Audition results are not given over the phone. Placement in DYAO, the Conservatory Orchestra, and String Ensemble will be determined by the audition panel and Music Director Scott O'Neil. All decisions are final.

Membership Requirements

In addition to the guidelines set forth in the DYAO member handbook, all DYAO members are required to be actively taking private lessons as well as participate in their school music program.

Financial Aid
